About Us
The Food Safety eLearning Academy was established by Graham Henrickson. After 30 years as a senior executive working for some of the world’s leading brands he left to start his own management consulting firm. It was an assignment involving food safety that was the catalyst that led him to launch the Food Safety eLearning Academy in February 2023.
He founded the business on the principle that high-quality world’s best practice training should be affordable to everyone, and the Company has continued to live up to this promise. Graham believes knowledge is the key to behavioural change and he is no stranger to competency-based training and eLearning platforms.
All Courses are compliant with federal & state legislation and aligned with national authorities like ACECQA and the NHMRC.
When establishing the Company, we made a strategic decision to put all his effort and skills towards developing the best possible training solutions for food handlers. 'If you are going to do something then be the best at it and own it' is the expression he uses. So, it's for that reason the Company does not offer Food Safety Supervisor Training.
But it's not just price that differentiates the Company from its competitors - there's the fact the Company offers industry specific content, each Course has a comprehensive curriculum, and the teaching model he applies is one that considers the different ways people learn.
Developed with help from leading experts, each Course is made up of Chapters and these are designed to take around 20min to complete - the peak attention span for humans. These Chapters are broken into Lessons with the learning content brought to life with a mix of easy-to-understand everyday language, high-quality images and diagrams along with instructional videos.
A FREE Fact Sheet and a quiz-based assessment at the end of each Chapter reinforce the key learning outcomes and help maximise knowledge retention.
By engaging students and providing them with practical advice and step-by step guides, they don't just gain the knowledge they need, they learn how to use it.

Affordable & Industry Specific
It was obvious, the most efficient and the fastest way to reduce cases of food poisoning was through better training and education of those in the best position to make a difference - food handlers.
But what was on offer was over priced and poor quality.
So, Graham Henrickson set out to become an industry disrupter - to focus his effort and skill on developing high-quality professional food safety training that all food handlers could afford.

Sharing Our Knowledge
The Food Safety eLearning Academy is committed to sharing our expert knowledge to help our student continue to learn and grow.
So, we've introduced targeted training Courses, we publish regular articles and we've developed a community page with notifications of national food recalls and industry news updates.

Don't Be Fooled
BEWARE of companies offering accredited training courses for food handlers. THERE IS NO SUCH THING!
The law does not require or specify any accredited training for food handlers. Instead, the Food Standards Code allows business owners to decide how to train their food handlers, who will train them, the material to be provided and the final curriculum.
However, the Code demands regardless of the method used, this training must at the very least include the following 4 subjects - safe food handling, contamination, cleaning & sanitising and personal hygiene.
It's important to understand that a food safety training certificate alone is not enough.
As well a certificate to prove they have been trained, food handlers must also be able to demonstrate the work they do is performed according to the food safety laws.
